How You Can Save Money on Your Destination Wedding

A little careful trimming of the wedding budget can leave you with a lot more cash in your pocket to spend at your wedding castle while you are on your honeymoon.

Although a destination wedding and even a castle wedding may seem a more reaonably priced option than holding an elaborate reception at home, these tips can trim you budget even more - without compromising on the uniqueness of your castle wedding.

These are our top 10 tips for saving a packet on your destination wedding - in no particualr order:

1. Get married out of Season
Not only will your flight costs be much less, but you are likely to get better deals in hotels at your destination.

2. Don’t get married on Saturday
In almost every country in the world, it’s the first day that books out and the most expensive day to marry. Pick a weekday and there are reductions to be had and the venue for both wedding and reception will be less busy.

3. Cut the Cake
Yes, really! Tiers of wedding cakes are expensive - and you don’t want to be transporting the leftovers home after a week in the sun. Buy a nice cake in a cake shop or even a supermarket - if you are good at that sort of thing decorate it yourself, it doesn’t have to be elaborate, white frosting and fresh fruit is very pretty and effective.

Alternatively consider replacing the cake altogether with pretty individual cupcakes, they will cost a LOT less and your guests will love them!

4. Keep your wedding dress simple
“Elegant and Simple” - see how nicely those words go together? Avoid bridal shops altogether and look for a simple shift dress from an ordinary store. It’s amazing what you will find. Not only will you save on the purchase price, but it’ll be easier and cheaper to travel with and you may even get to wear it again. Or buy in a charity store.

5. Cut your lists!
You do not need to invite everyone you know, all your relatives and even your Dad’s work colleagues to your destination wedding, in the half hope that most will say no? Only ask those you absolutely want to be there to share your day. Throw a simple party for those who could not make it to your destination wedding after you return from your honeymoon.

6. Ditch the Professional Photographer
Maybe you have a friend who is an amateur photograher, or you could give out cheap disposable cameras to the guests, then collect them later - hopefully there will be some good shots in there. With digital photography it’s even cheaper - a few friends taking hundreds of shots are sure to hit gold often enough for you to make up an excellent album.

7. Make Your Own Stationary
There are wonderful and relatively inexpensive kits available for this if you are not artistically inclined. Pick a theme or colour and stick with it throughout for a coordinated look. Think laterally - print a really good photo from you wedding multiple times and use as a postcard, writing on the back, for thank you cards.

8. Tell everyone you’re getting married…
.Or on honeymoon. You could get an upgrade on flights, better rooms in hotels, bottles of champagne orwine in restaurants, free entry to clubs.

9. …. but not the florist!
Keep your flowers simple - there is no need to have loads to make an impact. Single lilies laid on a table look as good as elaborate displays, a simple bouquet with lots of inexpensive greenery will keep the attention on the bride.

10. Avoid Wedding Stores!
As soon as something is for a wedding, it becomes expensive. You can often get the same or almost the same things for a fraction of the price elsewhere. For example fabric shops will have ribbon, beads, feathers and other decorative items.

Why Castles Are Fantastic For Wedding Days

England has some of the best medieval architecture in the world. Great Britain has a wide range of fantastic castles, palaces, manors and places of interest. While a few UK castles have been left in ruins because of various wars and battles some castles remain in the same condition today as they did many years ago. Many medieval ruins and sites of interest are now taken care of by organisations like English Heritage and many are now open to the public for various events.

Many castles and historical sites now open up their doors for medieval re-enactments and events. A medieval re-enactment is when a group of medieval enthusiasts arrange a day out where they wear traditional armor and costumes and perform medieval forms of entertainment for the public. Hedingham castle frequently have days out in Essex where they host jousting and archery events for everyone to enjoy.

As many castle weddings are often in remote locations and castles usually have a lot of additional buildings, most now offer wedding receptions and accommodation. This can make planning easy for your wedding, as all of these additional facilities tend to be available as one package, giving you the time and space to plan for the other aspects of your big day.

A lot of couples fantasise about the idea of having their wedding in a castle, which has meant that castle weddings have become more common as people look to make their day really special. Many of these historical structures have everything you could want from a castle wedding. Most castles have huge grounds, which have many scenic areas that are the best wedding photo backdrops. The wedding ceremonies themselves are typically in impressive halls, decked out with wedding flowers, candles and seating for your guests. Some people even choose to go that one step further by opting for a medieval theme complete with full costumes and musical minstrels.

As the popularity of castle weddings increases so does the competition between the castles offering weddings. This has meant that many castles have opted to offer additional wedding services to help them stand out from the rest. As well as themed weddings you can take advantage of other package deals including reception venues and accommodation, a personal wedding planner and wedding breakfasts. A classic car such as a Rolls Royce or Bentley would be the most elaborate way for the bride to arrive in style and for the happy couple to leave for their honeymoon.

Many castle wedding organisers have teamed up with other businesses offering wedding services so they can offer luxury packages. Wedding photographers and planners often get included with these luxury packages, along with bakers that provide the wedding cake. This is a massive benefit for the couple getting married as it allows them to see how much the overall wedding package will cost so they only have to worry about the registrar fees, the rings and the wedding dress.

Wedding Jewellery – One Essential Thing I Ought To Consider For A Perfect Wedding Day

When it comes to wedding, women simply want to have fun. And their idea of cool wedding is shown on the perfect wedding jewellery.

When my best friend-turned-fashion designer conceptualized my not-so-soon wedding event, she advised me on three things:

1. Perfect gown

Of course, brides were made to be beautiful on their wedding day. As most people say, it is the peak of a woman’s beauty. Nothing will come close to enhancing that loveliness than to clothe the bride with a stunning gown. It doesn’t have to be grand or posh. What matters most is that it should make the bride stunningly beautiful.

2. Pearl bridal jewellery

For a bride, there’s nothing more to weddings than wearing a striking set of pearl bridal jewellery. Magnificently made by nature, pearls, after diamonds, are every girl’s best friend. Excellent pearls are hard to find and are considered rare, and so anyone who puts on such wonderful design can be considered as exceptional. From stud earrings to bridal pendant, nothing will be ignored with a pearl.

3. Venue

Everybody loves parties and the next best thing that can bring life to any event is the venue. Exquisitely designed gardens or private function rooms can boost the life of the party. From a majestic view to a dedicated grand ballroom, weddings can truly be memorable along with good places to cherish.

I have gathered from different wedding experts and fashion gurus that the most important part of weddings is the preparation period. Every detail, every area, every concept must be discussed and executed to ensure smooth operation on the actual wedding day. The preparation period will tell you whether your wedding will be a disaster or a blissful memory to be remembered by everybody.

If you are still having trouble how to even start the preparation, it is indeed time to examine your ideas and have them laid out.

1. Conduct a survey

From food to the venue, it is best that you conduct a survey on the best places and the best foods to go. Nothing can go wrong to ideas that have been well recommended.

2. Talk to you wedding coordinator

For sure, you want to cut down on expenses before your wedding day, but a few assistance extended will surely be worth it. Make it a point to have a wedding coordinator. This person does not have to be an expert. She can be your sister, your aunt, your pal, and even your soon to be mother-in-law. What is important is that there’s someone who is not as uptight as you and who can help you organize the occasion. You don’t need to perform all the duties in your wedding. All you need is help and the whole thing will last smoothly.
